Sustainability Never Tasted So Good

Last night was such a beautiful evening in the DFW! So beautiful, I decided we had to eat outside. I had been to Pacific Table before, but somehow missed this huge outdoor space they have.

When you go, make sure you order the oysters. We had half West/East Coast. Both were good. The horseradish/cocktail sauce they serve with it will open you RIGHT UP. Good thing I had a cold cocktail to wash it down. I ordered the French Hummingbird because I am a fan of all things bubbly!

The other pretty cool thing about this place is that they care about the environment. They get foods from a few different local sustainable farms and have implemented sustainable practices into their business like water conservation.

So if  you’re looking for a place to go and celebrate Earth Day, look no further. Go have some fresh organic food and be #sustainable!

Brunch in Love

I love me some brunch! A meal where it is totally acceptable to have bottomless mimosas and eat chicken and waffles is a total winner in my book.

When I moved to Arlington, I have to say that I was quite disappointed in my brunch options. Unless I wanted to drive 20-30 minutes to Dallas or Fort Worth, I felt like I was stuck eating at chain restaurants. So when I found Restaurant 506 in downtown Arlington I fell head over heels!

First of all, it is located in this super cute Bed and Breakfast called The Sanford House Inn & Spa. It’s like you’re taking a step back in time. The house has a beautiful wrap-around porch where you can dine and take in the scenery.

Now on to bottomless mimosas. They have several flavors to choose from and they’re super tasty. The food is equally as good. My husband and I have had the spinach and bacon frittata, the chicken and waffles, and the steak “sunny side up”. The steak literally melts in your mouth.

Their menu has lots of yummy food and drink options for super reasonable prices. The service is pretty awesome too. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

P.S. The dinner here is amazing too. xoxo

My KC Favs

This was hard to do, but here are my top 5 favorite restaurants in KC and why I love them.

  1. Le Fou Frog
My all time favorite is by far, Le Fou Frog I love, love, love everything about this place. When you drive up, it looks a little sketch, but trust me everything about this place is divine. From the sexy candlelit ambiance to the heavenly escargot – that’s right, I said the snails were heavenly – it’s all wonderful. If you’d like to go all out, try the dover sole. It’s truly an incredible dish.
  2. Stock Hill
In close second is a newer KC restaurant. I was actually sad that this placed opened after I left KC. The service is phenomenal. We had two servers tending to our table for our entire meal. The environment is super swanky. I felt like I was in a much bigger city.
  3. The Majestic
This place is what KC is made of – jazz, steaks and cocktails. This is an iconic KC restaurant, and I would be remiss if I didn’t have it on this list.
  4. Rosedale BBQ
We are talking about KC people, so I had to throw in my two cents on this topic. Most people say you gotta try Gates or Arthor Byrant’s. Don’t get me wrong, those are both solid choices, but I prefer Rosedale’s sauce and meat.
  5. Go Chicken Go
I think this place actually won the title of best fried chicken in KC, but I have to be honest. I’ve never had the chicken. I always opt for the fried gizzards. If that sounds gross to you – don’t knock it until you have tried it! They are damn good and the rolls here, I am quite sure are made out of pure butter. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
